Church History in the Pacific and Asia Conference Historical Resources
Mormon Pacific Historical Society
The Mormon Pacific Historical Society was founded in 1978 by Lance D. Chase and Kenneth W. Baldridge at Brigham Young University-Hawaii to foster the study and recording of the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. Annual meetings were held at various locations and papers were presented, displays prepared, and local folks “talk story” about events in Church history. In 2021, BYU-Hawai'i accepted stewardship for the conference portion of the society's work and expanded the research areas to also include Church History in Asia . The Church History in the Pacific Asia conference is held bi-annually.
